Diving into creative for Von Hjord, we approached this project with all of the nuance and mystery that comes with the musical composition. Leaning on old film footage from sailors from around the world, we wanted to evoke a feeling of melancholy and for a time unknowable.
In this process we discovered a love for broken film elements, light flashes and erratic imagery which transports the viewer beyond a standard dream sequence, but into something much more visceral and grounding.
